The Need to Replace Our Aquatic Center
Take a quick tour, look behind the walls, and it becomes clear Chesterfield’s Aquatic Center is at the end of its life expectancy.
It is old
It is worn out
It is expensive to maintain and operate
Broken parts are often not available
It is cheaper to replace rather than fix
A new aquatic center is needed for our families, swim teams, folks exercising in the lazy river or competition pool, and many other Chesterfield residents looking for a safe and fun place for recreation.
We have a simple choice. We either replace the existing center or we don’t have a City pool any longer.

A Smart Plan That Doesn’t Change Your Sales or Property Tax Rate — It Stays Exactly the Same
Combined, Props A+Q provide a fiscally conservative and taxpayer-friendly way of providing a new aquatic center for our community.
Prop A
Enables our City to issue general obligation bonds to finance construction.
Prop Q
Creates revenue via the use tax to retire those bonds.
The sales and property tax rates do not change.
Three important points about the use tax:
The use tax is primarily paid by large businesses.
It is not a double tax — you either pay the use tax or the sales tax — but never both.
Taking Pride in Our Community
We take pride in knowing that Chesterfield is a great place to live, raise our families, and invest in our homes, which is why we initially built an aquatic center.
That’s why it is important to replace this needed and wanted community asset. A new aquatic center will provide the amenities our families need and want.
